Opportunity
Feeding South Dakota staff and volunteers work together to serve approximately 12,000 families each month through Mobile Food Distributions across the state.
We are seeking a volunteer to assist the volunteers and staff at our Mobile Food Distribution with translating and supporting our Spanish-speaking guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist volunteers who are helping register guests by translating and providing support for Spanish-speaking guests.
- Foster a respectful and welcoming atmosphere for guests receiving food.
- Work closely with fellow volunteers and staff to ensure smooth operations.
Support and Training:
Feeding South Dakota staff will be available on-site for support and supervision throughout the shift
What to Wear
- This distribution is held outdoors, so please dress for the weather
- Wear comfortable, layered clothing
- Fully enclosed shoes required (no Crocs, sandals, or open-toed shoes)
Qualifications:
- Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish (both speaking and understanding) and proficiency in English.
- Ability to show respect and kindness to volunteers and guests from all backgrounds.
- Comfortable standing and walking for 1-2 hours at a time.
