Mission: Nutrition
The Apples, Grapefruit, Potatoes, and Carrots have arrived at HQ, and we need your hands and hearts to prepare these essential supplies for our South Dakota community. Winter is coming and we have a mission: make sure our neighbors have the nutrients they need to stay strong and healthy as the days shorten and the frost settles in.
Objective: When fresh produce reaches our center, we aim to sort, bag, and distribute it swiftly, so that it finds its way into South Dakota homes and not into the trashcan.
Start your weekend off strong, and help us from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM on Friday, November 1st pack produce for our community.
Support/Training:
Please arrive at least 5 minutes early and dress in comfortable layers
with fully enclosed shoes. Volunteers will receive instructions and training
upon arrival, with staff support and supervision throughout the mission.
Qualifications:
- Ability to stand and walk for 1-2 hours at a time (a stool is available for those who may need to sit).
- Ability to lift 5-10 pounds.
- All volunteers are welcome! If you require reasonable accommodations, please contact us at info@feedingsouthdakota.org.
- A waiver must be submitted prior to volunteering. Any volunteers under 18 years old must have a parent or guardian sign their waiver before participating.
Age Requirements:
Due to safety protocols, all volunteers must be 11 years or older to
participate in this warehouse operation. Those under 14 years old must
be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Reminder:
We encourage you to volunteer alongside friends, family, and co-workers! If
you’re volunteering as a team, please use the "respond as a team"
feature. If you need to cancel your shift for any reason, please call 605-335-0364
or email info@feedingsouthdakota.org.
Together, let’s march for health, compassion, and community!
