Join us in our Sort Room and Warehouse where you'll play a crucial role in picking and packing food for pantries across Sioux Falls. Each week, our School Pantries and Sanford Children's Wellness Pantries rely on your help to restock their shelves and support local children and families in need.

Feeding South Dakota receives thousands of pounds of donated food per year from various food drives and our retail salvage program, so we need your help to sort it!

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteers will check expiration dates and labels on donated food, and then sort the donated food into categories such as Protein, Rice & Pasta, Cereal, for later distribution.

Feeding South Dakota receives thousands of pounds of donated food per year from various food drives and our retail salvage program, so we need your help to sort it!

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteers will check expiration dates and labels on donated food, and then sort the donated food into categories such as Protein, Rice & Pasta, Cereal, for later distribution.

Support/Training:

Please arrive 5-10 minutes early and wear comfortable clothing in layers and closed-toe/closed-heel shoes. Volunteers will be given instructions and training upon arrival and will have staff support throughout their shift.

This project will be done in our bulk-food room, where you'll scoop cereal and seal and label bags that will go into food boxes for local families across the state.
