What You’ll Do:

As a volunteer, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that we have adequate volunteer coverage during mobile food distributions so that we can continue to properly serve our guests.Input essential Mobile Distribution information into a computer, helping streamline our volunteer program and support those in need.This opportunity is monthly.

What We’re Looking For:

Ability to sit comfortably for 1-2 hours.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple browser tabs and types of data.Able to read information from paper and input that data into a computer.Proficient using a computer. Independence and initiative.Attention to detail.Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement to ensure the privacy of those we serve. BONUS: Good at deciphering different styles of handwriting.

Sioux Falls: Front Desk Support (2025)

Front Desk Coverage - Sioux Falls

Join our Front Desk Support team and help us fight food insecurity right from the heart of our distribution center! 

Key Responsibilities:

Make a great impression on our guests and volunteers. The front desk/reception volunteer will be responsible for greeting guests and volunteers. 

Why You’ll Shine in This Role:

Be the First Impression: Greet guests and volunteers.Enjoy Full Support: Our Volunteer Coordinator will be in the office next to yours, if you have questions or need assistance! Just arrive 10 minutes early, dress in comfy layers, and wear fully-enclosed shoes.

Age Requirements:

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

Light Office Work - Sioux Falls

Help the fight against food insecurity by assisting Feeding South Dakota staff in various light office tasks. Volunteers may also work on other light-duty projects that aid in emergency food assistance efforts for South Dakotans in need.

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteers will fold and stuff outgoing letters and prepare envelopes for delivery by administering a final count.

Support/Training:

Please arrive 10 minutes early and wear comfortable clothing in layers. Volunteers will be given instructions and training upon arrival and will have staff support as needed throughout their shift. 

Qualifications:

Ability to sit for 1-2 hours at a time  Work may involve folding, sorting, counting and filing

Age Requirements:

Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older.

The front desk volunteer will be responsible for greeting guests and answering phone calls.

A Volunteer Guide will be provided! Our Volunteer Coordinator will be in the office next to yours, if you have questions or need assistance.Please arrive at least 10 minutes early for a brief training, and dress in comfy layers.
