Description The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a federally funded program directly addressing the gap in meals in our service area. Your work will be directly impacting our mission of ending hunger by providing support to ensure eligible families and individuals are accessing this benefit. This opportunity will be on the 3rd Wednesday of each month for 2 hours from 10am - noon. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist our Community Outreach Coordinator at the Sioux Falls Downtown Library 
  • Provide neighbors with information about the SNAP program and application process

Support/Training:

Training will be 20-30 minutes long and will consist of an overview of Jot Form, SNAP, and basic computer skills required for this opportunity.

Volunteer will work directly with our Community Outreach Coordinator. 

Qualifications:

Ability to:

  • Maintain confidentiality and sign a confidentiality agreement 
  • Be tactful and open-minded while working with neighbors from a wide range of backgrounds and circumstances 
  • Educate eligible/potentially eligible individuals about the benefits
  • Keep up-to-date on SNAP changes

Age Requirements:

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older
