Feeding South Dakota receives thousands of pounds of donated food, and we need your help to sort it all!

Key Responsibilities:
Volunteers will sort donated food from food drives and our retail salvage program. Food is sorted into categories such as protein, beverages, cereal, etc. for later distribution. Volunteers will check expiration dates and labels to ensure freshness as well as discarding damaged food items.
Support/Training:
Please arrive 10 minutes early and wear comfortable clothing in layers and closed-toe/closed-heel shoes. Volunteers will be given instructions and training upon arrival and will have staff support throughout their shift.
Qualifications:
- Ability to stand and walk intermittently for 2-3 hours at a time
- Ability to read fine print and attention to detail
- A waiver must be submitted prior to volunteering. Any volunteers under 18 years old MUST have parent signature on waiver prior to volunteering.
Age Requirements:
This position will be working in a warehousing facility alongside forklift traffic. For safety reasons, all volunteers must be 11 years or older. Volunteers under 14 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
