On Monday, November 11, 2024, at 5:21 pm, we received an email from a guest that said:
"Thank you so much for your donation of food for the FSD giveaway today. I live alone and depend on food stamps and generous folks like you. I’ve been to your food giveaway several times and always appreciate the dedication and service you provide. God bless you!"
This message is a reflection of the amazing volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to our mission. We couldn’t have packed those boxes, sorted that produce, or created the welcoming, warm environment for our guests without YOU.
So, I'll get right to it. We are in need of volunteers on Friday, November 15th. November has been busy, and we’ve been rolling with the punches! If you have time to help from 9-11 am, we would love for you to join us.
What You'll Do:
You’ll be a crucial part of our team, helping to pack boxes of food on an assembly line.
What to Expect:
We’ll provide a brief orientation to explain the roles for the project. Our team will provide support throughout the shift.
What We’re Looking For:
- Ability to stand and walk for 1-2 hours
- Comfortable lifting up to 5 pounds
- Volunteers of all abilities are welcome! If you need accommodations, feel free to reach out to us at info@feedingsouthdakota.org
- Volunteers must be 11 or older. Ages 11-13 must be accompanied by an adult. All volunteers under 18 need a signed waiver from a parent or guardian.
Additional Details:
- Location: Feeding South Dakota Distribution Center, 4701 N Westport Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57107
- Parking: Park in the east lot and look for the Volunteer Parking sign.
- Check-in: Arrive at least 5 minutes early and check in at the front desk.
- Clothing: Dress comfortably in layers with closed-toe shoes.
- Break Area: We have a volunteer break room with water.
- Valuables: Keep valuables locked in your vehicle.
